Blacbird is a manufacturer and developer of electronic components. Various electronic components are stored chaotically in the manufacturing warehouse.
Step Two
There are no fixed storage locations for the individual items and both assemblies and individual items are stored. This results in long search times and makes stocktaking difficult.
Step Three
For the chaotic warehouse system, location numbers were assigned to the individual shelf locations. A PC terminal is equipped with the SETAGO® software and the articles are assigned to a storage location during storage. This enables the employees to search for articles and thus find them again in the chaotic warehouse system. This way, the picking time could be reduced from 30-60 minutes to 3-5 minutes. The error rate when picking the articles could also be reduced through the exact listing of the storage locations.
